Mateo is a Sophomore at the University of Notre Dame, studying Chemical Engineering with a pre-medical track. He is a Mary E. Galvin Scholar and a Grand Challenges Scholar. He is involved in Notre Dame's EnableND Club, the Red Cross of Notre Dame, and tutors other Galvin scholars. Mateo joined Zorlutuna Lab in August of 2022 as an undergraduate research assistant. In the future, Mateo plans on pursuing an MD/Ph.D. program to be able to conduct research while practicing medicine.
