Nathan earned his bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Marquette University in 2023, then continued in his program to earn his master's degree from Marquette in 2024, also in BME. There, he worked with optogenetic muscle stimulation and created a closed-loop controller that activated a stimulating laser based on a conditioned EMG feedback signal. He joined the Zorlutuna lab in the fall of 2025 and is interested in fabricating myocardiocyte networks to perform computations that can be challenging and inefficient for traditional silicon-based networks.
