John is a senior at the University of Notre Dame studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering on the pre-medical track. He is a Trustey Family Scholar and volunteers at Corewell Health Hospital and Cultivate Food Rescue. Before joining the Zorlutuna Lab in August 2025, John conducted research at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, investigating cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury and developing a hollow fiber model to study kidney damage and filtration. His research interests lie at the intersection of engineering, medicine, and translational healthcare. After graduation, John plans to spend a gap year working in a hospital before attending medical school.
